Steak alla valdostana with Fontina PDO

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 400 g of sirloin slices
  • 50 g white flour
  • 50 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g ham
  • 200/250 g sliced fontina PDO
  • breadcrumbs
  • oil
  • salt

Method

Dip the sirloin slices in the white flour, then in the whisked eggs and breadcrumbs. Fry in oil and butter and add salt. Place them in a buttered baking tray, cover with slices of ham and abundant fontina PDO (2-3 slices). Add curls of butter and bake in a hot oven for 5 minutes. Serve hot with potatoes or other cooked legumes.
